3D-IMPACT Promoting 3D Printing for Global Sustainable Development 2025-1-CY01-KA122-ADU-000336404
SUMMARY
This project aims to bridge the skills gap in education while promoting sustainability through 3D printing technology. Currently, hands-on training in digital fabrication is often inaccessible to many educators and students, limiting their ability to create sustainable solutions. By equipping educators and students in Cyprus with 3D printing knowledge, the project seeks to foster innovation in education and entrepreneurship, leveraging emerging technologies for long-term impact.
The Erasmus+ mobility project presents a transformative opportunity for our organization by addressing critical challenges in sustainability, digital skills, and community-driven innovation. Through targeted training, hands-on projects, and international collaboration, our learners will gain valuable skills while contributing to a more sustainable, inclusive, and technologically advanced society. Organizational needs and challenges: In today's fast-evolving digital landscape, our organization faces several key challenges that impact our ability to provide quality education and sustainable solutions. These include: Sustainability and environmental responsibility: -The global push for sustainability has created a need for eco-friendly production methods. -Traditional manufacturing processes lead to high material wastage and environmental degradation. -There is limited awareness and expertise within our organization and community about sustainable production techniques. Lack of technical skills in 3D printing and digital tools: -Many of our learners, especially those in marginalized communities, lack exposure to digital skills like 3D modeling and design. -There is a growing demand for professionals skilled in 3D printing and digital skills, yet training opportunities remain scarce. Limited access to affordable, customizable solutions: -Many communities lack resources for affordable, tailored products in education, local market and daily life. -Dependence on external sources increases costs and limits innovation at the local level. The project offers an opportunity to address these challenges through structured training, knowledge exchange, and community-driven initiatives. The three main objectives of the project contribute significantly to overcoming these barriers. The objectives include training educators in sustainable 3D printing practices, emphasizing digital and entrepreneurial skills with a focus on the circular economy. The use of workshops and mobility activities will enable participants to integrate 3D printing into their services, creating sustainable products for vulnerable learners to improving their employability.
Expected results include enhanced digital competence, the development of sustainable prototypes, and the promotion of green entrepreneurship, ultimately contributing to sustainable development and opening new economic opportunities in Cyprus and other countries. OBJECTIVES
