Main objectives:
Give young people the opportunity to engage in solidarity activities, while improving their skills and employability;​
Improve the engagement of organisations in solidarity activities;
Respond to social needs and promoting solidarity in Europe.

The project covers travel (with limited budget), food, accommodation, activities, and mentoring costs, plus each volunteer receives monthly a financial support that changes according to the country of destination (pocket money) and has a health insurance (CIGNA).

Hosting organization (HO)
Foreign volunteers: CCIF Cyprus hosts European volunteers in its office in Paphos, developing for them a program of stimulating activities and providing guidance and support during the phases of the project.

Supporting organization (SO)
Local volunteers: prepares, supports and trains participants before departure, act as a mediator between them and the hosting organizations, provides support to participants during their mobility and when they return from their activities.

To participate in projects with the European Solidarity Corps, you must register on the ESC platform, clicking on "Join the Corps" and entering your data. Young people from the age of 17 can register on the portal, but they need to reach 18 years old at the time of departure and start of the activities.

UP for SOLIDARITY

Project Description: UP4S is a solidarity project that will provide the opportunity to volunteers to participate in activities related to socialissues, art, and education. It creates the opportunity for 4 young people to volunteer and participate in activities that benefit the local community, people around Europe and contribute to the daily work of the solidarity activities of CCIF Cyprus.

The specific objectives of the project:
  1. promote volunteerism and solidarity through non formal and informal education,
  2. learn different techniques such as cartoon making, video editing and theatrical forums,
  3. get involved with the social media of the organization and learn how to communicate key messages,
  4. actively participate in the preparation and implementation of workshops and
  5. design awareness campaigns for solidarity activities and promotion of actions through the networks.

The activities of the project:
  • workshops on how to fast learning a foreign language,
  • teaching young refugee and immigrant mothers greek and english,
  • acceptance issues workshops,
  • interaction with young refugee and immigrant mothers for promoting intercultural dialogue, healthy lifestyles, recycling, art and music, 
  • encouragement and facilitation of the participation of youth with fewer opportunities, to provide opportunities where national schemes do not exist
  • create awareness campaign ending in a serie of public events including exhibitions, conference and screaning in the community

Volunteers will:
  • work with refugee and immigrant mothers and children
  • gain experience in education processes
  • live for 6 months in another European town
  • learn a new foreign language and practice English language
  • transmit their culture, hobbies and knowledge to other youth and children

GO for SOLIDARITY

​Project Description: The project contributes to the objectives of ESC by bringing together young people from Cyprus, the divide and other EU countries for building more inclusive local societies, for updating in societal challenges and for supporting vulnerable
people. The project will offer empowerment, inspire and provide soft and digital skills to young people who want to help
other people, gain new learning and develop new skills for their future employability.

Objectives:
- To improve quality in voluntary work, international cooperation, intercultural awareness, care, integration and activities for youth;
- To improve the non-formal education, intercultural dimension, creativity and general capacity of our organisation;
- To promote the values and activities of ESC to a larger number of youth in our local community;
- To enhance the mental mood, health and personal development of youth including functional communication, conflict
management, anger management, limits in human relationships;



Activities (according to his interests):
- organising workshops for local youth;
- hosting open events such as country presentations and language cafes;
- visiting schools and promoting European Solidarity Corps program;
- delivering workshops about culture, human rights, youth opportunities, volunteering;
- hosting a radio show about youth, culture and education;
- helping with administrative work in the office of CCIF Cyprus;
- working with media, photography, film (we own semi-professional equipment: camera, tripod, monopod, lenses, etc);
- writing articles, taking pictures of our events;
- running our social media channels, creating promo videos, movie recaps from our activities, etc,;
- initiating own projects/events/activities;



Specifically volunteers:
• develop skills such as creative writing, introduction to artistic therapy;
• promote democratic values and human rights such as fighting stereotypes and racism, protecting the environment;
• provide qualitative activities for young people and familiarize them with quality ways of using their free time;
• increase young people's opportunities for personal, social and professional development and increase their skills and competences;
• raise young people's awareness on contemporary social issues and promote their active participation in solving these issues;
• develop mutual understanding among young people and increase their co-operation;
• develop intercultural and environmental awareness among young people;
