AD HOC GROUPSAd hoc working groups were organized for the implementation of intercultural activities. They were temporary teams formed to address specific tasks related to fostering cultural understanding and cooperation. These groups brought together diverse members with relevant expertise and backgrounds to plan, execute, and evaluate intercultural activities, projects and events. Their responsibilities included organizing round table meetings with focus groups, workshops, and educational programs, as well as addressed challenges related to cultural integration. By leveraging the unique perspectives and skills of their members, ad hoc working groups aimed to promote inclusivity, mutual respect, and collaboration across different cultural communities.

A Heroine's JourneyThe "Heroine's Journey" will give every woman participant, the opportunity to travel to a magical world, a world where everything is possible, where good and evil are clear, where animals talk and plants walk. A world of magical omnipotence, which while we experience as children, we slowly lose it. This magical omnipotence of fairy tales allows imagination and creativity to flourish, to speak through symbols and archetypal forms. Each team member will create his own hero, identify with him, look for helpers - both within the team and internalized -, fight obstacles and conquer the "treasure". Within the safe space of the group, with confidentiality and respect for individuality and diversity, each person will be able to approach issues and concerns that would otherwise be difficult to process. With the drama therapy approach, each participant - both individually and as a member of the group - will be able to listen to a fairy tale and create one of their own. With theatrical techniques: voice, movement, improvisation, roles as well as other creative techniques (doll making, play, painting, etc.) from the field of Dramatherapy and we will focus on the discovery and emergence of the creative "source" and the personal stocks. An exhibition will be created with the aim of meeting the "Heroes" with the public and communicating the symbolic stories to the general public. 6 sessions X 2 hours By Sofia Karavasilis, MSc Social Worker, Drama Therapist |

Mediation and conflict In diverse societies there is always the potential for misunderstanding and conflict over values, behaviour or resources. In cities, where people with different cultural backgrounds and socio-economic statuses live together in close proximity, such tensions are natural and indeed part of everyday life. Instead of denying, ignoring, or repressing conflict, the intercultural city seeks to anticipate, identify, address and resolve issues to the satisfaction of all protagonists without compromising the principles of human rights, democracy and the rule of law. The intercultural city views conflict as a normal feature of free, dynamic and communicative communities and sees the very process of conflict mediation and resolution as an opportunity for innovation and sustainable social cohesion. Members of different ethnic communities become “Intercultural Ambassadors” for the municipalities. Leaders within different ethnic groups with good communication and language skills could be approached to see if they wish to take on the role of “Intercultural Ambassador” within the community.
