My Town Your Town [MTYT] is a training project that will raise youth employability, skills and Inclusion through an intergenerational tourism development. The key feature of the project is for youth, aged 18 to 30 and from a wide range of backgrounds. Youth will work with mentors to produce a new narrative interpretation of an existing or new cultural tourism destination in their local area. The Model will better represent the multi-cultural facets and European values of the host community to better appeal to 21st century visitors. The impetus has come from the experiences of the partners working together on the Erasmus' s PLAN project 201702-CY02-KA205-001033 and from the opportunities and issues identified in our local communities around unemployment, social inclusion and cohesion, and tourism and culture.
The specific objectives of the project are to:
exploit the potential in tourism sector for delivering a wide range of positive outcomes and benefits for youth
increase youth's skills, unearthing talents, provide new opportunities and connections so they feel part of their community
